Location of Fernmania

We are located in the island state of Tasmania, south of the Australian mainland at a latitude of 40 deg. south..

Australia is a big dry continent, however in some areas there is high rainfall and beautiful forest, none more so than in Tasmania.

Dicksonia antarctica tree ferns grow in most wet forest areas in Tasmania, the damp and partly shaded conditions resulting in their prolific growth.

Tasmania is separated from mainland Australia by Bass Strait which adds some island character to the state.

Dicksonia antarctica is a part of the great flora here and grows prolifically. Tasmania has the largest population of Dicksonia antarctica in Australia contributing to the beauty of the forest areas. (There is good reason why Tasmania is the top destination for bush walking in Australia).

Tasmania is the southern-most state of Australia. This map shows the location of Fernmania in Scottsdale.
